Latin Groove Orquesta is all Latin jazz
aficionados dream band come true: an All-Star
band featuring some of Cuba's most in-demand
soloists, that is here given very good room to
spread out and prove that Latin Jazz is much more
than high-note cliches.
The Cuban-Argentine band is based on the Cuban
feel for rhythmic enjoyment, combined with Lugano
's ear catching, yet always harmonic, intricate
compositions that draw on jazz, timba, tango and
funk.
On top of this comes the lyric and sweating solos
from Havana's Mr. Sax, German Velazco, the young
favourite, Alexander Abreu Maresa's brilliant
trumpet virtuosity and the superb piano playing by
Hernan Lugano.
