Velo de Oza have a powerful live show that has won fulsome praise from Leila Cobo in Billboard: "...troupe plays a mixture of carranga -- folk music from Colombia's countryside, mostly the state of Boyacá -- married to rock and pop. The sound is unique, in large part thanks to the use of traditional instruments like the guacharaca (a sort of tube scraped by a fork to produce a scratching sound) and a fantastic sense of humor both onstage and in recordings. Fun to watch and hear."Billboard Magazine, September 2014 http://bit.ly/1LjQe0Y

From the mountainous Andean uplands of Colombia’s Boyacá region, Velo de Oza bring their unique fusion of rock and the traditional sounds of carranga to SxSW for the very first time. The band have been together for 10 years, and are pioneers in the evolution of carranga rock. In 2012 they released their first full length album “Sumercé” to national acclaim, and subsequently secured showcases in Colombia’s principal music conferences, the Bogotá Music Market (2014) and Circulart (2014). The band was also the recipient of grants from the Colombian Ministry of Culture to participate in WOMEX (2013 UK and 2016 Spain). They went to SXSW (Texas, USA) in 2016 and they have a tour of Europe in July/17 with 22 shows (Spain, Germany, Czech Republic). Recently they were invited by Carlos Vives to record a song for the new album "Pombo Musical 2" with other of the most important Colombian artist like ChocQuibTown, Andrés Cepeda, Monsieur Perine and Jorge Celedón.
