Sandji, "La pluie", is the latest creation of the legendary Djembéfola Adama dramé, solidly surrounded by the keyboardist-beat maker Marc Challosse, Lara Bourrel and Julien Cuny from STUDIO PiL'Z and the sound designer Olivier Valcarcel.
The djembe is projected into its future thanks to digital video and sound processing in real time. Illustrated by archive and contemporary images, a parallel is created between the repetitiveness of electronic rhythms and the gestures of agricultural life, which are still often manual. Much more than a musical and visual work of art, Sandji calls for a global ecological awareness and illustrates the 5 agricultural seasons in Burkina Faso: drought, rain, seeds, storms, harvest.
