Melancholy, romanticism and nostalgia. Three words that defines the foundation of Vaeaerts electronic pop music.

Vaart is a band with roots in Swedish Lapland. Johan Airijoki and Paer I. Poromaa began making music together in the remote mining town Malmberget. When they met violinist Frida Johansson and sound artist Love Kjellsson the band was formed. In May 2010 they released their debut album Sommarfagel. The album received good reviews and was followed by concerts in Sweden and Germany. The group's second album Palla Orka will be released on Westpark Music in 2012.

Press about Vaart in 2010:
"Vaart is a complement that the music scene in Sweden is in need of. The debut album Sommarfagel is a journey through the northern forests with a large dose of nostalgia. With hints of some sarcasm plays fiddle, harmonica, melodica intermingled with electronic music."-Noejesguiden

"Vaart shows with Sommarfagel that they are a group to keep an eye on in the future." - LIRA music magazine

"It is with great interest, listening to the lyrics on Vaart's debut album. It is a descriptive deep dive into a North swedish heart. And it engages. In addition, supplied with charming melodies, fun instrumentation with violin, harmonica, guitar and choirs and Paer I. Poromaa's obvious way to bring color to their songs. "- Joyzine

"Northern Sweden as never previously portrayed in pop." - Norrbottens Kuriren

"My new favorite group, they make music in a genre that is so peculiar that it is difficult to name it." - Ystads Allehanda
