A refined warmth combined with resolute power can be heard in Tai Siao-chun’s simple voice. Besides singing, she is also devoted to working on revitalizing and passing down culture in indigenous villages. In the 2011 Taiwan Music Composition and Songwriting Contest (Indigenous Language Category), Siao-chun surprised all by winning with her song “Musical Rite of Passage.” Her song “Lament of Colored Cloth” caught the music world’s attention by winning her the top prize (for a second time) in the 2014 Taiwan Music Composition and Songwriting Contest. In 2016, she released her first solo album, Tracing the River of Life. In recent years, she has performed at a number of music festivals, such as the 2016 World Music Festival @ Taiwan, the 2018 Shanghai World Music Festival, the Rainforest World Music Festival in Malaysia, and the Toraja International Festival in Indonesia.
