Worlds meet and vibrate in harmony in this acclaimed trio. Singer, songwriter, guitarist and nyckelharpa player, James Yorkston is a leading figure on the Scottish folk scene; double-bassist Jon Thorne has worked with a broad range of artists from Trilok Gurtu to electronica pioneers, Lamb; and Suhail Yusuf Khan, is a multi-award winning, seventh-generation sarangi player and classical / sufi singer from New Delhi. Together, Yorkston Thorne Khan bring their own individual influences to the fore and playfully react to one another's music. It is the sound of three friends having fun, through improvisations housed in considered compositions and traditional songs and ragas from the UK, Ireland and India. The trio released their third album, Navarasa – Nine Emotions, in January 2020. The accompanying European tour was interrupted by you-know-what – but will be continued!
