NÀMÀKÀLÀ brings together Malagasy guitarist Joël Rabesolo, Belgian saxophonist Damien Brassart and Beninese drummer Josaphat Hounnou in a contemporary trio where jazz improvisation meets the musical traditions of West Africa. Drawing inspiration from Manding repertoires and enriched by the musicians’ own cultural backgrounds, the group creates original compositions that blend rhythmic depth, melodic dialogue and spontaneous interaction. Meaning “bringing people together” in Malinké, NÀMÀKÀLÀ reflects a shared belief in music as a space for encounter, exchange and connection across cultures.
