Apha Petulay born in Congo and grown up in Brazil, starts composing when she is 10 years old.
Her musical career starts in Brazil. She is 20 years old when she self produces her first album « Delight Tribal » (2001) surrounded by Brazilian musicians.
Her album recevies a wanderful welcome and opens her the doors of several festivals as Recbeat or Recefe Rock.
She also signs a contract with the city of Recife Nord-East of Brazil) to perform at Carnivals . Caio Blat notices her quickly and gives her the musical direction of the play Karma written by Betito Travares.
Apha Petulay arrives in France in 2006. She performs in the first part of Susheek Raman in 2008. In 2009 , she stages « the Ni Shye Project »and collaborates the following year in the Dance Biennial of Lyon as lyrics writer and interpreter in « Les Mélodies du Bonheur » for the Guesmé Company and the town of Saint-Genis-Laval. In 2011 her ambum 4 titles Uhuru is produced. In June 2012, she sings the first part of the Staff Benda Bilili concert, then the first part of Jacques Higelin concert in 2013.
Concurrently she has an acoustic project , voice and guitare with Sir Jean (Meï Teï Sho, Le Peuple de l'Herbe. A new album « Take me » is recorded and released in 2013. Since 2016 she works on scene with Soom T in various festivals ( Solidays Patéo), and in parallel she defends on stage her last album « Right Now » in the stores since 5 April 2019.
