SAOUTA is a Brussels-based contemporary jazz quartet bringing together oud, soprano saxophone, double bass and Middle Eastern percussion. Through original compositions and collective improvisation, the ensemble creates an immersive musical language where contemporary jazz enters into dialogue with the musical traditions of the Middle East. Rooted in listening, interaction and artistic curiosity, SAOUTA’s performances unfold as evolving sonic landscapes that are both intimate and powerful. Following the acclaimed release of Ode to Travel (Homerecords), the quartet is currently developing a new repertoire exploring memory, transmission and cultural heritage.
