After ten years offering fun on the stage, the Folk Group Quempallou confirms the stability of its carrer with its third work. Its name is very appropriate "Polo aire" because that is the feeling of these seven musicians when they are in concert.
Quempallou was born in 1999, being its members from O Incio( Lugo) and O Morrazo ( Pontevedra). With this first band, they record their first CD with an homonymous title: Quempallou (Zouma Records, 2002). With this work, they were the at the top of a list of a W.R.A.S broadcast in Atlanta ( USA) a radio station dedicated to the "Musics of the world".
After several changes in their formation, they publish their second work "Estremonias" (Zouma Records) in 2004. In this work, they included the theme "Xan", with lyrics from Rosalia de Castro. In fact, according to the magazine "A Nosa Terra", this theme was chosen as the best theme of the Galician Music in 2004. In this second work, they keep on maturing (musically speaking), and they incorporate to their own style, the contributions of the new members of the band. Being a stable formation since 2004, They now introduce us "Polo Aire". With this record, they expect to set people talking and to give the audience lots of fun when they are on the stage. An important musical maturity, where the strings and their own compositions have got a great relevance now, but without losing the traditional background or the importance of words, that are now the leading tone. For the recording, they counted on different collaborators, among them , we can emphasize the hip-hop group "Dios Ke te Crew".With them, they created what we can call the first "Hip-Folk" in the History of Galician Music
Let's enjoy with the new and fresh proposal of Quempallou and allow them to let you go into the force of their music and words...
