Hanka Wójciak - vocalist, author and composer, a journalist.
Kapela Hanki Wójciak released two albums: Znachorka (2014) and Zasłona (2017).

In the Hanka Wójciak Group’s music one can hear Polish folk motifs, as well as echoes of oriental and Celtic music. Simplicity and repeatability of motifs is intertwined here with improvisation, serenity with ferocity, and joy with sadness. This is music which is inherently close to the Earth, convivial, dancing and trans-like at the same time. Hanka Wójciak’s texts describe the contemporary world, but the archaisms they contain, and words taken from mountaineer jargon, give the songs a fable-like and folksy quality. Hanka Wójciak’s songs are a virtually perfect amalgam of three layers, which go together exceedingly rarely nowadays. Interesting vocal tone, immense lyricism of interpretation, musicality of arrangements, and above all – the extraordinarily poetic nature of the texts.

"Wojciak has an angelic voice, sweeter than honey and sublimely expressive, albeit the controlled "simplicity". Her theatrical delivery of the lyrics is simply astounding and throughout the album she is able to move between such contrasting moods like deep melancholy and humoristic sarcasm. The lyrics are, yet again, intelligent, meaningful and skillfully weaved, using the Polish language at its full capacity. In a musical world, where everything is sampled, synthesized, overlaid by layers of computer generated effects, condensed and compressed, twisted and turned around, boosted and filtered, listening to her music is like biting a strawberry for the first time this year and letting an abundance of sweetness and other flavors to take gradually control of your mouth and then your mind". - Adam Baruch
