BANDECUERPO - body music started in Montevideo - Uruguay in 2009 as a platform for research and experimentation in body music. The group has taught workshops for musicians, dancers, teachers, teenagers and children in different educational institutions in Uruguay, cooperating with educational programmes at a national level. They have played different programmes as guest artists in the main theatres of the Uruguayan capital, like the Sala Zavala Muniz, Sala Zitarrosa, Sala Experimental and Sala Hugo Balzo. The group has also participated in activities of institutions such as the Universidad de la República, Ministerio de Desarrollo Social, Instituto Nacional de la Juventud, Bienal del Juego and the Instituto del Niño y Adolescente del Uruguay, among others.

Bandecuerpo presented their show at the Cafe Vinilo in Buenos Aires as part of the SIRBA 2014. They just received support from the Iberomusicas programme in order to realize a tour in Chile, starting with Santiago in November 2015.

In 2012, the group was awarded the first prize of the Movida Joven, a competition organized by the administration of Uruguay, in the category of music. They also received support for group singing lessons by the Fondo Nacional de la Música in 2012 as well as travel costs support in 2014.
