Debalina Bhowmick based at Kolkata, India is a Classical Music trained Bengali folk singer and has performed worldwide with her traditional folk set up, FOLKS OF BENGAL, which includes instruments like Ektara, Dotara, Khamak, Tabla, Dhol & Khol. Debalina has performed at Urkult festival in 2017,2018 and 2019, Colours of Ostrava & EtnoKrakow in 2017, Copenhagen World Music Festival in 2017 & 2014, Essouria Hadrat Festival in Morocco 2015, Salfoldi Dalfold festival in Hungary in 2018, Sufi Sutra 2014-15, Sur Jahan 2016 -2020 and has collaborated with quite a few International musical giants including Arnob from Bangladesh and Ale Moller from Sweden. Debalina also has a world music band with collaborations of musicians from Goa and this 7 member band called East West Local has also performed at festivals across India and in Malaysia. She has 5 music albums already including 2 of East West Local and the first album of East West Local has hit the top 30 list of World Music Chart in 2014. Debalina has also performed at closing ceremony of prestigious Kolkata Int'l Film Festival in 2015 and created the musical ensemble in 2016. She is a WOMEXite since 2014.
