Manganiyars are hereditary community of professional musicians of western Rajasthan, living mostly Barmer and Jaisalmer district. Jaisindher is a village of Gadra Road tehsil of Barmer district located 115kms from the main city where 15 artist families of Manganiyars reside. Gazi Khan Manganiyar is a folk musician from the Manganiyar community of Jaisindher, Barmer. Gazi was brought-up in a musical environment and learned various traditional songs from his father Late Ustad Bhungar Khan. With time he evolved as an excellent singer by his unique voice and soulful presentation. Along with various national festivals Gazi has performed at international platforms including Paris, New Zealand, Moscow and Cairo. Gazi and his team consists Nasir Khan in supporting vocal, Bhungra Khan in Kamaicha (traditional Manganiyar chordophonic bowing instrument), Gopa Khan in Khartal and Farid Khan in Dholak (leather percussion) presents traditional folk music and Sufi music.
