Music takes on the color of Latin Soul with the arrival of Los Fulanos. An amazing Boogaloo sing-a-ling band brought from el barrio straight to you.
Los Fulanos is a super-orchestra composed of true aces of the Barcelona music scene. Fierce combatants in the battle of disco-funk, salsa, rock or whatever else is put before them. Los Fulanos is the only group around today that's bringing back Boogaloo, that fantastic style born from the fusion of latin rythms and the funk-soul of the 60's New York Diaspora with artists like Ray Barretto, Joe Bataan, Willie Colon, Hector Rivera, Joe Cuba, Pete Rodriguez, Willie Bobo, etc...
2007 was a great year for the band. They where on compilations like "Groovadelia" or "Achilifunk", best music compilation of the year for the prestigious magazine the Wire, where they were the only active band. They finished the year playing in front of 10.000 people in Barcelona.
The band started 2008 playing with the king of boogaloo, Joe Bataan, as his backing band. With him, they're going to publish an entire record for the prestigious label Vampisoul, where Los Fulanos have already published two vinyl singles.
Los Fulanos are getting back the torch of the fusion between soul and salsa, and they are rebuilding it in their overwhelmed live shows, where they approach to the genre from Prince to Peret, the king of gypsy rumba.
To see them alive is to fall under their spell. Half of Europe could confirm it last year (their concerts in France or Finland will be remembered for years there) with and without Joe Bataan. You can say the same with every Spanish city where Los Fulanos has been.
