Sawt El Maghrib Orchestra
The Sound of Morocco

Sawt el Maghrib Orchestra is Maurice Elbaz’ most recent project of Moroccan music.
Sawt el Maghrib Orchestra performs the best pieces of the classical orchestral repertoire of the 70s and the 80s from artists like Abdelwahab Doukkali, Brahim Alami, Namiah Samih, Raja Bemlih, Mohamed Hayani, Belkhayat, Mohamed Fuitah, Haim Botbol, Aziza Jallal, Chekkara, Younes Megri, Abdelkader Rushdie and Maatie Belkacem.
Sawt El Maghrib is the only Moroccan orchestra which only performs the music of this era. They could be hired to perform one of their five complete shows which tells the story of the golden age of classical Moroccan music.
Sawt El Maghrib is conducted by Ahmed Guendouz and the string section is under the supervision of Dr. Mohcine Khanouss.
All the musicians have co-curated the formation of the Orchestra.
