Mysterious and bizarre as a gypsy's song about his daughter-in law, enchanting as a feast where you end up dancing for three days, mournful as the music that accompanies you home when the party is over, irresistible as the streetmusicians who tempt you to sign up for war - when Csókolom plays, a glimpse of a kind of life that we hardly know any more, comes to life: to dream, dance, mourn, leave and never return again.

Csókolom finds a sound of its own for the old Hungarian music from Transylvania. The musicians perform in a traditional make-up of voice, violins - including the three-stringed kontra-viola, unique to Hungary - and gut-stringed bass, but they add exotic rhythms and lively improvisations in arrangements of their own. Csókolom's music sounds in western ears as alive as for centuries in Eastern Europe.

The group has been building its reputation in the clubs, concert halls, and festivals all over Europe, the USA and Australia. Listen to four temperamental musicians who with a lot of pleasure attempt a musical surprise attack that will move your heart and legs!
