Timo Vaananen has long remained the most influential and famous Kantele soloist in Finland. He is also a member of the Finnish-Welsh trio Taith. He plays all types of Kantele, both traditional and modern instruments. The music of Timo Vaananen is sophisticated and emotional, but also strong and expressive. With the electric Kantele Vaananen is branching outwards into the ethno ambient genre. He occasionally performs together with a dancer, Ms Paivi Jarvinen, who expresses the feelings of the music in movement.
