Colombian cumbia: Afrosound meets Spain!

Afrosound in Spain!

For it's 50th birthday, the Colombian cumbia group Afrosound tours around Spain!

The legendary group Afrosound, formed in 1973 under the iconic Discos Fuentes label, is going stronger than ever. Their formula for combining emerging Afro-Latin rock sounds with tropical rhythms has traveled the world, and now a new generation of musicians is adding to this magical potion with psychedelic vibes, improvisations with fuzz and wah-wah effects, echo on guitars and keyboards, and a frenzied mix of synthesizers.

This year, Afrosound celebrated its 50th anniversary, a career filled with iconic songs such as their version of "La Danza de los Mirlos" by Los Mirlos from Peru, "Caliventura," and "Dog, Cat." Now, they present "Cumbia y nada más," a clear example of the band's new era. Their upcoming single, "La Chula Loba," will be released in the fall, kicking off their extensive worldwide concert schedule, including stops like Bogotá's Primavera Sound.

The tropical music group is coming to our country for the first time with a major tour that will visit Dabadaba in Donostia/San Sebastián on October 26th, Sala López in Zaragoza on October 18th, Zentral in Pamplona on October 29th, Upload in Barcelona on November 2nd, and Panda in Madrid on December 3rd. Tickets go on sale starting September 22nd at 12:00 PM on lasttour.org and seetickets.com/es.
