Diogo Picão is a musician, singer, composer and lyricist. He grew up a musician, studied saxophone, became a singer-songwriter and hopes to grow old as a poet and bohemian.
Born in 1988 in Lourinhã, he began studying saxophone at the Torres Vedras Jazz School in 2003 and graduated in Music from ESMAE- Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espectáculo, Porto, in 2009.
An excellent song writer, he released his debut album, “Cidade Saloia”, in February 2018, which he performed in Portugal and Brazil.
His second album “Palavras Caras” came out in September 2022. Consider Disco Antena 1 (by the National radio Antena1), it features twenty musicians including guests Salvador Sobral, Mônica Salmaso, and Luca Argel. The launch was at Teatro Maria Matos, Lisbon, in front of a full house.
Recently Diogo has been to South Korea where he performed at the Gwangju Busking World Cup.
He continues to write, like bread in his mouth, songs about everyday life, social relationships, the enchantment of life, nature, romantic illusions and a handful of other things.
