1989
This artistic project is gathering about thirty artists from all around the world with whom the musicians from Gran Kino have written and composed the soundtrack of this year that is so important for the history of our modern world: 1989.
Among these artists, we can find the associated talents of Calexico (USA), Tambours du Bronx (FR), Clare & the Reasons (USA), Arpad Bella (Hungarian customs officer who attended the Iron Curtain opening...) or even Jos Kley, former singer of The Ex (NL)
As a consequence, although only 4 musicians appear on stage, all other artists, no matter where they are from (Africa, Japan, Europe, United States) are sampled and so appear in the "air" ...
Then, voices and other instruments don't have any limit in the audience's imagination, because although they are not physically present, their role is crucial for the establishment of the universe of the late 1980s that the band is creating on stage with its music.
Everything is built around a decor made of iron tubes and a voice-over (with several translations) who speaks to the audience and plunges them into the universe of the year 1989.
This show will be combined with the release of an album and, of course, with a tour from the spring 2012 onwards
