Duquende has been discovered by Camarón de La Isla when he was only 8. The Master invited on stage and accompanied himself on guitar.
Despite the music background pressure, his parents turned down him to become professional as young. Therefore we was to rediscover him, adult with a mature voiced and a mastered technic.
In 1997 Paco de Lucia called him to substitute his brother, Pepe de Lucia, in his septet. Duquende also worked with the finest flamenco guitarist such as Tomatito, Juan Manuel Cañizares, Juan Habichuela, Vicente Amigo…
Even if his brilliant carreer prouved that is much more than a mere imitator, Duquende exclaims his captivation for Camarón and “Cante Jundo”, the traditional singing he overcomes...
