"Pensamiento" presents a fusion of Colombian rhythms from both Pacific and Atlantic cultures, mixed with jazz philosophy of conversation and improvisation. Currulao, Abosao, Mapale and Tamborito are some of the rhythms featured on this project, arranged and composed by Rachel.
With ties to both Montreal and Brooklyn, Quebec trumpeter and composer RACHEL THERRIEN is having an impressive impact on the North American jazz scene. With sold-out shows and a fourth CD due out this year, the Montreal Jazz Festival’s 2015 TD Grand Jazz Award-winning Therrien is an inspired bandleader whose diverse musical interests extend to Cuba and Colombia.
