"Baroque" - Eduardo Isaac

Eduardo Isaac

Constantly evolving, the guitar - in the 20th century - possesses now all the needed arguments to conquer the baroque repertoire. For several obvious reasons such as its tuning, its ambitus, its playing but also its particular character, the guitar didn’t capture the attention of Telemann, Bach, Haendel and Scarlatti, even if this last most probably approached it or played it in Italy or in Spain. Nowadays, beside a larger ambitus and strong technical means, the modern guitar offers this music new colors and other articulations. It brings also to its expression a special energy and the inimitable charm of a plucked instrument.
