More than just a band, Banda Conmocion is eighteen musicians enjoying a good time playing in the middle of the audience and on the scene. In their presentations, it is not rare to see them to go down with their musical instruments, playing while they get accommodated between the public. Then everything turns into a delirious carnival, a great holiday in the middle of the street.
Banda Conmocion is a troop, a family playing together since nine years ago, and maybe because of that, they have had left beautiful memories to whom were lucky to be in their concerts, instead of discs.
They initiated their work in 2001 as a musical project parallel to the Mendicantes Theatre's performances, with presentations in marriages, baptisms and funeral, before coming to the scenes (year 2005).
Their music is made using different styles like tambo nortino, the cumbia, the joint, the cuyahuadas, the waltz, the bolero, the San Juanito, among others. We would say that this great band has formed his foundations in his love to the music of our Latin America and a few years ago they have included in his digest the gypsy music. This way they have done it, extending and spreading this music with the energy that characterizes them, quite mixed, as if they were the sonorous band of a salitrera still in functioning. During these years of career, Banda Conmocion has shared scene with local artists like Manka Saya, Arak Pacha, Mauricio Redoles, Manuel Sanchez, Alfonso Rubio, Los Mentaos, Los Trukeros, carnival school Chinchintirapie, Juana Fe, La Mano Ajena, Chico Trujillo, La Floripondio, Los Fiskales Ad Hok, Los Miserables, Patogallina Saundmachin, Sonora Palacios, Sinergia, Anita Tijoux, Escaso Aporte, Sonora de Llegar, Sol y Lluvia, Francesca Ancarola, Jose Sevez, Banda Fuerza Maestra, Banda Proyeccion, La Todo Mal Orquesta, Les Comediant, among some others.
There has been nine years promoting sonority that don't need electrical supply and that has allowed Banda Conmocion to visit many places, granting an experience that took form in their first work recorded: "Pregonero" (2008). Tinkus, cha-cha-cha, cumbias and gypsy paces listened in the instrumental Peruvian and Bolivian bands, and the papayeros of Colombia, besides the gypsy fanfares of the region of the Balkans are the influences of those who are nourished. The present topics in the production are of authorship of the band and they were prepared from the year 2005. Though the recordings were realized in Chile, the work of mixture and masterization took place in Postdam and Berlin, Germany.
During 2009, Band Conmocion achieves very important aspects in his career, since of the hand of his disc he appears in important national, united scenes to national and foreign bands, achieves an out-standing recognition of the means of press for his contribution and renovation of the traditional sonorities of the feast. It is as well as shares scenes with groups as Divididos, Calle 13, Smitten, and forms actions close to members of them more emphasized from Chile, since they are the groups Inti Illimani, Congress, or with solists as Joe Vasconcellos and Freddy Torrealba, and with exponents of the hip hop as Anita Tijoux and Subverso, and with musicians of the new generations, as Manuel Garcia, Francisca Valenzuela y Camila Moreno.
One other relevant achievement from 2009 was given by the European tour, which supported them for two months of presentations in Berlin, Manresa, Fiesta Mayor of Bilbao, Barcelona and a great quantity of localities of the south of France, and the Confolens's Festival. A similar experience they lived during 2010 with his participation in the Expo Shanghai, achieving a great acceptance of the oriental audience, and new possibilities being opened for the band, which now faces the launch of his second musical record.
