The case of Pensão Flor...
Part of what we can call MUP - Portuguese Urban Music, the band Pensão Flor was born in Coimbra and is characterized by the creation of musical imaginaries that revolve around a Pensão Flor (Flower Pension) and its guests. With two albums released, O Caso da Pensão Flor (2013) and Sul (2016), the group emerges in the Portuguese music scene with a renewed intention to give Portuguese music new, radiant and unexpected songs where the Portuguese roots music easily finds echoes in other music of this world: the tango, the morna, the vintage pop or the erudite music of romanticism.
O Caso da Pensão Flor (2013) is a musical fantasy, a compilation of people's stories, weaving the imaginary of a pension inhabited by various characters, creating a true musical miscellany, the result of the baggage of each musician in the band.
With Sul (2016), Pensão Flor presents an album that has as inspiration characters that inhabit beyond Pensão Flor, where they also portray those who left and those who stayed in a piece of land, the "South".
