Hadar Maoz is a unique musician, singer and performer.
She brings a new musical row to the world by taking the music of Persian and Bukharian [Uzbekistan] roots (central Asia) and combines them with a soul groove and blues.
This musical piece, "On The Silk Road", was composed by Hadar Maoz.
It describes that magical road from China to Turkey, passing through Central Asia, where Hadar's family originated from.
Hadar wrote this melody on the Arabic Maqam scale, or "Nawa" in Persian. In Persia and Central Asia it is common to play the Nawa scale at sunset.
According to ancient Persian beliefs, the world was created from the seven notes of the Nawa scale.
