Although fans the world over know her as an interpreter of popular songs, this girl with the silky, smoky voice has much more to offer. She has tens of millions of video views on her classic versions of the world’s biggest songs. But on her new album, twentytwenty, Sara Niemietz digs deeper than she’s ever gone before. Her jazzy, bluesy voice has always been able to tear our hearts out with her renditions of rock and pop classics. Now she’s reaching into her own heart to find those feelings she’s wanted to reveal for a long, long time. She’s written an album full of songs that gives us a unique view on how Sara Niemietz sees things.

She was only four years old when she was pulled out of the audience to perform with classic country and pop artist, BJ Thomas. Most toddlers would have been intimidated to be performing in a theatre full of cheering adults, but Sara Niemietz found it thrilling and even more… it ignited something in her that has never died. Now over two decades later, she still finds it exhilarating to be able to communicate her emotions through
music. “I feel at ease – in my element – when I’m interacting with my audience,” she says. One would easily be forgiven if one only thought of Sara Niemietz as a musician, but she is much, much more. In her relatively short life, she already has more credits than most performers twice her age.

She’s starred on Broadway, at the Grand Ole Opry and the Radio City Music Hall, Chicago and Los Angeles stages, appeared in film and television shows, and she’s the voice you may have heard on a number of soundtracks and albums. But it’s in her live shows where Sara and her audience really connect. She performs live over 100 shows per year and she’s done concerts in over 40 countries. Of course, many music fans know her as one of the mainstays of Postmodern Jukebox, but she now performs even more concerts with her musical collaborator, W.G. Snuffy Walden. The Emmy award-winning Walden has served as her producer, mentor and on-stage cohort for the last decade. And it’s this incredible chemistry that prompted Sara and Snuffy to decide to record twentytwenty live before an LA audience. This intimate crowd will have front row seats to a project that has really been years in the making. “It’s Sara’s opportunity to show how she and her music have grown over the last decade, and to punctuate her musical maturity,” says Walden. When twentytwenty is released in May of 2020, fans will hear songs that have lived in the heart of Sara Niemietz for some time. They are songs that have had the time to grow and be nurtured and now they’re ready to be shared with her fans the world over. twentytwenty is not just the year of the album release; it’s the vision of a brilliant artist who’s ready to share how she sees the cosmos. And we think it’s pretty close to perfect.
