Playfully provocative, seriously funny, music genre-mashers, FOKN Bois, aka M3nsa and Wanlov the Kubolor, are the subversive satirists at the frontline of Ghana's burgeoning Hiplife movement. Both are influential figures on the Ghanaian music scene: guitarist, singer, poet and roots style icon, Wanlov (Emmanuel Owusu-Bonsu) came to public attention in 2006 with his song, Human Being, influenced by his experiences as a Romanian-Ghanaian growing up in Accra; UK-based beat-maker, singer, producer, M3nsa (Bondie Mensa Ansa) is a ubiquitous musical presence in both London and Accra. Together they have amassed a legion of fans through their ground-breaking Pidgin language musical film Coz Ov Moni (Because Of Money) and its sequel, Fokn Revenge, in which their adventures humorously highlight the real struggles of young Ghanaians today. A subsequent series of albums and videos are taking Hiplife global.
