Coordinated by Jenny Jamison (UK), chief executive, Scottish Ensemble

with Louis Presset (France), executive director, FEVIS

Networks throughout Europe – some working in specific regions, others in specific musical genres, some with organisations, others with individual artists – all seek to improve interconnectivity, best practice, knowledge exchange, sustainability and impact of our sector, to help make the best work within the best conditions.
Led by representatives from FEVIS – who support and advise individual freelance musicians – and The Bridge – a new network for string ensembles – this session will provide an opportunity to explore the headline priorities of all networks present. We expect to find new synergies between our respective missions and potentially ways to better support each other and, in turn, the groups and people we serve.
The session may lead to a very early stage conversation as to the possibility of a more regular super-network meeting, what we would want from it and whether this would be super-useful or super-complicated!
