Nothing can stop Marcelo D2. It goes back a long way. Since he emerged in the music scene with Planet Hemp, more than 20 years ago, the career of this original rapper, born and raised in the streets of Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, has only been evolving. Since the early mixes of punk-rock with rap, after with samba, with MPB, from favela to urban sounds, with the world, never loosing ground, revolutionizing Brazilian hip-hop scene and identity.
Always searching for the perfect beat, Marcello has travelled all over the globe, more recently in Angola. With five European tours and counting, he has steped firm on prestigious stages such as Womex, Montreaux, Roskilde, Reading, Cite de La Musique, etc. Having sold over a million physicall records, recorded 21 music video clips, 2 DVDs (one MTV Unplugged).
Now, Marcelo Maldonato Peixoto returns to his origins with his sixt album "Nada Pode Me Parar", in which he dives with joy and control in rap, hip-hop, modern and old school, with a a touch of samba (but not entirely). In this record Marcelo counts with participations of Aloe Blacc, Like (Pac Div), Hélio Bentes (Ponto de Equilíbrio) Sain (seu filho), Batoré (Cone Crew) amongst many others.
