Driving and sleeping in his old van, the Portuguese singer travels frequently throughout Europe. In recent years he has performed in Slovenia, Croatia, France, Spain, Italy, the UK, Finland and Lebanon.
The musicians he met and with whom he shared the stage on those journeys were very influential. His travels abroad, and a growing interest in music from other cultures, served to further foster Rui’s love of traditional Portuguese music, and Fado in particular. In the show, FADO solo, he sings and plays traditional Fado and songs “from the same family.”
