Parafusa mixes pop rock with Brazilian roots rhythms like Frevo, a kind of carnival music. The band has a special formation that sum the basic rock quartet guitar, bass, drum and keyboards with five trombones, well known in Brazil as A Trombonada.

This partnership between Parafusa and A Trombonada begun in December 2006, when the band was invited to play at the event promoted by Recife city hall to commemorates 100 years of the rhythm Frevo.

Parafusa was born in 2002. The band faces the independent music marketing with creativity, based in the influences from the Brazilian popular music (MPB), regional and roots music from Northeast of Brazil and progressive formation of the 70s musicality.

Released in 2005, “Meio-dia na Rua da Harmonia” has been bringing the possibility to conquer after every concert new fans. The record achieves a good repercussion and respect from the Brazilian media and was released by Alvo Discos, and has been distributed by and Tratore.

Parafusa have been playing in several festival such as Rock Na Praça, Panarock, Festival Olinda Arte em Toda Parte, Festival No Ar: Coquetel Molotov, Goiânia Noise 2005, Abril Pro Rock 2006, Feira da Música de Fortaleza 2006, and Rec Beat 2006. The band also played with the Scottish band Teenage Fanclub in the UFPE Theatre in 2003.
