In 1998 Eric had started his own management company EWM, thus bringing his activities as musician, composer and producer under one roof. Prominent artists like Paul van Kemenade, Martin Fondse and Louis Mhlanga hooked up with EWM.
This also resulted in the foundation of his own record label EWM Records on which he released two albums in 1999: Song for Nomsa"(with South African guitarist Louis Mhlanga) and Naala and more songs from the book. In December 2000 ,Zvinoshamisa, by the Paul van Kemenade Quintet plus South African Guests and To be continued..... album were released. In spring 2001 the long awaited album :It is what it is-featuring Norma Winstone... was finally released after 6 years of delay. September 2001 :Rush Hour... was released.
In the beginning of 2000 Eric shifted towards another area with the founding of electric group E-Quad. Taking its influence from Dance, World beat, Acid, Trip-Hop, Rock, World Music and Jazz, this band is blending those sounds into something very fresh, danceable and new. Their first release, a 12-inch called ;I hear you now... was very well received in the press and at the Amsterdam Dance Event. In 2003 the band toured South Africa with a special project and played the Oppi Koppi Festival. The first album will be released in February 2004.
In July 2003 Eric decided to leave the Paul van Kemenade Quintet after 14 years of service.
His duo with South African guitarist Louis Mhlanga has become really succesful playing at some sold out theaters in Holland and South Africa. A new duo album ;Keeping the Dream... which features Malinesian guitarist-singer Habib Koité, was presented at a 6 week tour with Habib as a special guest at some concerts.
For 2004 Eric is asked to fill in the line up for the Jazz International Rotterdam Festival and to perform with a selection of his activities at the Festival which takes place in the last weekend of September. A new big duo tour will claim September-October and half of November, Eyeing P.P., a special multidisciplinary artistic project dealing with the life and works of Pablo Picasso will be launched after that tour, covering modern ballet, sculpturing arts and music.
