Roberto Grilli is a self-taught musician who has managed to happily combine, in time, the expressive need with the innate musical instinct, letting a decidedly personal technical and stylistic imprint emerge. In addition to his voice with its special intonations, the instruments used by him are almost transformed in the sounds, modulated at the service of their expression hardly classifiable into a defined genre. For some time now, Grilli has collaborated on different projects in the fields of theatre, poetry and dance and created music for short films, documentaries and television programmes. Currently, in addition to collaborating with other musicians, he is working with Antonio Bertoli (poet, writer and performer) in a show of music, poetry and songs.
In this performance, Roberto presents himself in his usual capacity, i.e. improvisation, even re-editing some of the tracks from the CD "Natural born suite", recently released. The great passion for sounds led him to embrace different musical instruments to a point of finding in wind instruments (through the use of the "loop-station" for both the background-sound and phrasing) those most able to express their own language, mainly expressed in improvisation, dimension that gives way to fully express his personality.
