Cordel do Fogo Encantado is a band from Pernambuco that ingeniously recreates Rock and Roll attitude, theatre performance and Brazilian percussions. The group’s main musical and scenic characteristics are it’s unusual visceral instrumental base made up of various percussion instruments, an electrified guitar and a strong stage presence filled with a strong live performance.
Cordel do Fogo Encantado came to life in 1997 as a theatre act by the same name, based on music and poetry. In 1999, the act acquired a much more of a Rock Music Show characteristic and had its debut at the Rec Beat Festival in Pernambuco, Brazil.
The impact of that presentation launched the group in a few months to being the most important musical revelation of the Pernambuco musical scene in years.
In Recife two other percussionists from Morro da Conceição, Nêgo Henrique and Rafael Almeida, also adhered to the group giving to it a very rich and melodic Afro-Brazilian rhythm
