From Brasilia to Berlin, Danilo Timm plays many roles in the performing arts scene — from music entertainer, to singer-songwriter, album co-producer, mainstream musical theater actor, choral director and arranger. Timm leads two pop a-cappella groups in Berlin—HeartChor and OhMyChoir! And, as if that wasn’t enough, Timm is also the lead singer and founder of two underground Berlin-based music projects : Passiflora Live (down-tempo improv band) , and Latin alternative Neo-Tropicália band Aquafaba. Last but not least, Timm celebrates his femininity as drag queen Deloris Delight.
Now, Timm is excitedly preparing to release his first solo project NiLO starting this October 2022 with the opening act “Saudade Auf Deutsch” as a video and audio track. The NiLO project is a series of 10 episodical tracks which are interconnected by the Danilo’s narrative of his own transformative experiences lived in his second hometown of Berlin. These 10 music episodes represent the very different phases Timm underwent in his explorations showcasing his stylistic and lyrical versatility.
NiLO, takes us on a rollers coaster of emotions driven by his insatiable curiosity and genre-fluid songwriting approach offering : good ol’ kitsch German Schlager accentuated with Brazilian Funk, radio-friendly Brazilian grooves, decadent late-70s-early-80s-synth-pop beats, classic MPB with Neo-Soul soundscapes, throwback crooner-like jazz ballads, plus other enticing Musical surprises. Be it in English, Portuguese, German, Spanish or a bit of Polish, his entrancing live performance always leaves people wanting more #TheNiLO.
