The Africa Festival has become Europes largest festival of African music and culture. More than 122 000 visitors have come to Würzburgs Mainwiesen in 2005 to witness the black continents cultural wealth and zest for life.

Because of its great success in Germany, the Africa Festival has now found a few copiers of varying quality. To avoid confusion, the name and logo are now licensed. The dancing figures with the name Africa Festival will not only now, but also in the future be a guarantee of a high quality in music and background program.

The 19th Africa Festival will again be openair in the fields of the Talavera as well as in a variety of circus tents set upon the picturesque banks of the river Main. Music and dance groups from various African countries will again give lively displays of both traditional and modern music representing the black continent. From the very beginning a colourful bazaar, offering objects of art and items of practical use, African food and drinks, workshops, an extensive children's programm, open stages, various DJs and art exhibitions have been an essential part of the festival and will help again to bring Africa just a little closer.
