With his quartet, Bağlama master Coşkun Karademir continues his innovative fusion of East and West first heard internationally in his acclaimed projects with The Secret Ensemble, featuring Iranian vocalist Mahsa Vahdat.

Drawing on the soulful sounds of his Anatolian homeland, a region rich in Greek, Turkish-Ottoman, and Armenian influences, he is known in Turkey for his many solo and collaborative works and as a prominent musical director of international projects.

The Quartet brings together bağlama and kopuz, duduk, cello, and percussion to create a timeless musical essence that blends contemporary compositions by Karademir. These compositions get richer with explorations into the Cantigas de Santa Maria by Alfonso X of Castile from the 13th Century, Iranian Sufi mysticism, and soundscapes echoing the spirits of centuries of epic tales from the Black Sea to the Mediterranean.
