In March 2009 Cristina Branco presented us her new album, entitled "KRONOS". The unifying theme is TIME, and this album includes originals composed by a dozen of very different musicians united by one common trace: all of them have a long career of many years now, giving an extraordinary contribute to assert a quality Portuguese songbook. Jose Mario Branco, Sergio Godinho, Amelia Muge, Rui Veloso/Carlos Te, Vitorino, Janita Salome, Victorino d'Almeida, Mario Laginha, Carlos Bica, Joao Paulo Esteves da Silva and Ricardo Dias compose "KRONOS" original themes. It would be tedious, and not much
more than useless to stand out the great value and importance of each of them for Portuguese expression music.

"KRONOS" is the tenth album of a career which started onstage in Amsterdam, in 1996, and never stopped until today. Cristina Branco's first
years' repertoire was set by a truly confessed admiration for one of the strongest personalities of Portuguese music of the XX century: Amalia
Rodrigues. The Fado singer will continue to be an inspiration for Cristina, as we could hear on her penultimate album, recorded in 2006, "LIVE",
where she passed by Amalias's heritage with her so unique interpretation.
With "ABRIL", on the following year, Cristina Branco recreated in her own particular way the musical and poetic world of one other strong
personality of Portuguese music from the last decades: Jose Afonso. As Cristina Branco says, these two records where ones "of reflection,
ponderation about all that has happened" until now. With "KRONOS" the
singer intends to "reflect about the now, what has been gone and what will come (...) and make the future".
Cristina Branco's voice on "KRONOS" is accompanied by Ricardo Dias
(piano), Jose Manuel Neto or Bernardo Couto (Portuguese guitar),
Alexandre Silva (guitar) and Fernando Maia (bass guitar).
