Shukar Collective is a new and exciting project from Romania that combines the amazing sounds of the old gypsy's attitude with the new vibe of dance and electronica culture and music scene. The Shukar Collective idea came after Lucian Stan and Dan Handrabur heard some original Shukar tracks and saw them perform in a well known Bucharest jazz club. This idea consists of re-orchestrating these fabulous folkloric pieces with current technologies while preserving and even emphasizing the archaic aspect. The result is what you are listening to right now!
They will release their 'Taves Bahtalo!' album, worldwide in early of 2005 at World Music Network UK.
