KYNNES KABALE

Humoristic Danish lyrics, tunes with a twist of Balkan, Baghdad, Buenos Aires & Denmark and instruments from all over the world.

Kynnes Kabale is music with an attitude. It is the story of the strength in standing together in all our diversity, told in Balkan Rhythms and harmonic minor scales.
The orchestra has four different nationalities and numerous musical traditions and cultural steps. The fact that diversity is strength is inevitable when you hear the wonderful musicians reaching a harmony and power in their interaction far beyond the talent of the individual. Everybody plays in a traditional way and at the same time no one can play as they are used to because the many different folkloric traditions have to work together. Everyone contributes with their own and adapts to each other, and in a perfect harmony, Kynnes Kabale creates a whole new type of music with many roots.

Music speaks directly to the heart regardless of linguistic, cultural and religious differences. When the heart is warm it naturally opens for profoundness, self awareness and reflection on life and society. In fact, the meaning is simple: We all need to be present – and we can! Kynnes Kabale is an example to continue in the existential discipline called peaceful harmony.

Musically the quality of Kynnes Kabale is unique. The Musicians are all world class. The lyrics are well tuned, funny, poetic and universal with a well known touch. It is beautiful, touching, funny and it rocks!

After a considerable amount of time spent on the road, Kynnes Kabale is ready with their first CD in the autumn of 2010.

Kynnes Kabale consists of:

Fuat Talay(saz),Jesper Nordal(guitar, Bjonko Stosic(clarinet),Anders Heidelbach(bass),
Saer El-Jaishi(darbuka),Maria Kynne(vocals).

THE GLAS VOCAL ENSEMBLE - A MAXIMUM VOICE EXPERIENCE
Glas, which means voice in Bulgarian, was formed in 2001. They are working intensively with Bulgarian a capella music, adding new ideas and creating a unique expression which is now the signature of their seven-women joint venture. They have performed at music and cultural venues across Denmark, Sweden, Faroe Islands and Bulgaria.

The Glas vocal ensemble released their first album ”KOPIRIN” in April 2010.
The album's title ”Kopirin” is an invented word, an impulsive mix of the Danish word ”kopi” (copy) and the Bulgarian Pirin mountains.

The Glas Vocal Ensemble sings Bulgarian a capella music – old folk songs that have been
re-composed and modernized by many excellent Bulgarian composers in recent years. The music is a unique mixture of old and new, which has been influenced by both eastern and western traditions. The traditional Bulgarian sound is sharp and similar to the sound of a
bagpipe. Like the bagpipe, it often holds an underlying tone that forms the basis for all other sounds – a drone, from where more ornamental melodies spring. There are both shrieks and shouts and sometimes Arabic scales or dissonating jazz accords.

The songs describe life in Bulgaria – poetic descriptions of love, war and daily life as it was - in the village square, on the farm and in the fields. Amusing, heartbreaking and human tales that are translated by Glas during their performances.
Glas continues to surprise, thrill and touch their audience.
