soundings arts management with the world renowned sitar virtuoso kartik seshadri is not only comprised of solo performances of indian classical music (accompanied by world class tabla players) but also includes collaborative projects, composition, cross cultural improvisation, education and lecture demonstrations. the ensemble while rooted in the indian tradition, seeks to look beyond cultural boundaries to other artists and traditions across the globe. notable collaborative projects of kartik seshadri range from artists such as philip glass and the orion project to compositions such as the "quartet for a raga" premiered by the contemporary music forum in washington d.c. and the "concerto #1 for sitar and chamber orchestra" slated for its world premier in october 2009.
