Founded in 2005 by Producer Aditya a.k.a Adi Das, Rajasthan Roots provides folk musicians a platform for creativity and expression.
By dissolving all boundaries, a musician is allowed the freedom to experiment and create music.
Rajasthan Roots was formed in 2005, when under the mentorship of John & Faith Singh, and guidance of anthropologer Vinod Joshi of Jaipur Virasat Foundation www.jaipurvirasatfoundation.org, the need to have a contemporary interpretation of the folk music of Rajasthan was required to evolve the age old traditions of the Region and bring it to International standards of production. By keeping its essence intact, emphasis was made to introduce warmth and depth - bass, vocal harmonies, effects, etc. to the music, and also to produce the electrifying percussion of Rajasthan into a pulsative groove, also allowing space for all the naunces of the traditional instruments to be heard.
By encouraging the musicians to write their own songs they leave behind their own legacy's for future generations to follow, and creating the new sounds of Rajasthan!
