Alfonso Aroca is one of the contemporary references of Flamenco Piano both for his heterogeneous training, his extensive background, his versatility or his research concern, as well as for his commitment to tradition and interpretive passion, which through the Orilla del Mundo project have made it possible for the piano to achieve consolidation within universal flamenco.

Aroca is a pianist, composer and teacher with a triple training: classical, modern (jazz) and oral tradition (flamenco). He has dedicated himself to researching Flamenco and Piano for twenty years and has collaborated with a multitude of artists, including Esperanza Fernández, Montse Cortés, Martirio, Dulce Pontes, Vanesa Martín, Rozalén, Silvia Pérez Cruz, El Negri, Luís Pastor, Raimundo Amador, Josemi Carmona, Chambao, Chicuelo, Rosario La Tremendita, Javier Latorre, José Antonio Rodríguez, etc.

In 2015 he published his first album, “Orilla del Mundo”, which was nominated for the XVI “Flamenco Hoy” Awards of the National Flamenco Critics.

His dedication and study of flamenco music led him to be awarded the “Filón Flamenco” in 2016, the First Prize for Flamenco Instrumentalist at the prestigious International Cante Festival de las Minas de La Unión.

From then on, his career skyrocketed, achieving resounding success in the most prestigious theaters and flamenco festivals around the world, such as the Jerez Flamenco Festival, the Dutch Flamenco Biennial or the New York Flamenco Festival.

In 2022 it obtains new recognition. In this case, his latest work "Soleá 2.0" is awarded at the I SGAE Paco de Lucía Flamenco Prize.
Currently, he combines his intense career with teaching, being a professor at the ESMUC in Barcelona (Higher School of Music of Catalonia) and at the Centro Superior Música Creativa in Madrid.
