  • Rosario La Tremendita (Flamenco Singer)

Singer born in the Triana neighborhood of Seville, she is considered “the protagonist of the last great revolution of cante jondo.” In addition to being a singer, Rosario La Tremendita is a composer, producer, lyricist and multi-instrumentalist. Her albums show us the natural evolution of a great connoisseur of flamenco, as well as that of a restless artist in continuous search, daughter of her time, with an unstoppable desire for research and renewal that absorbs current influences without losing its essence: Flemish. His music is a journey from today to yesterday, through a contemporary sound surface that walks between electronics, funk, jazz and experimental, to the earth and to the hands that search for it. From tradition to innovation, under a creative freedom in constant experimental search, which starts from its most multi-instrumental facet. Two worlds that are one.

A TIEMPO (2010), was his first album and great challenge. His second work, FATUM (2012), obtained his first nomination at the Latin Grammy Awards for Best Flamenco Album. QASIDA (2015) becomes his third work, a live concert with the Iranian singer Mohamed Motamedi, where he creates a sound space and a dialogue between the two cultures. He obtained his second nomination at the Latin Grammy Awards for Best Flamenco Album with his fourth album, DELIRIUM TREMENS (2018), it is a project where he takes another step in his research concern by exposing traditional flamenco singing to new environments, both sonorous and harmonic, approaching jazz and electronics.

In 2021 he releases the first part of his double album, TREMENDA. PRINCIPLE AND ORIGIN, a whole that goes from contemporaneity to the root and from the root to contemporaneity. From synthesizers and dominant bass, to traditional singing and naked sounds. From traditional lyrics to contemporary and avant-garde, free and unconstrained. A journey from today to yesterday, through a contemporary sound surface that walks between electronics, funk, jazz and experimental, to the earth and to the hands that search for it. From tradition to innovation, under a creative freedom in constant experimental search, which starts from its most multi-instrumental facet. Two worlds that are one. With this and because of it, Tremendita is more tremendous than ever. «Tremenda», the first volume of this double album, has won the MIN Independent Music Award for Best Flamenco Album (2022).
