He started to play the piano at the age of 4. Resende considers the piano "his favourite toy". He is a pioneer of a unique and new genre called "Fado-Jazz". He is one of the most recognised Portuguese musicians abroad. His improvisation techniques are transversal to his aesthetics, and articulate different musical genres, from Jazz, Fado, and Classical Music - he has a duet with the greatest Maria João Pires - and even Electronic Music.
