Black Alien is one of the most welcomed brazilian rappers / raggamen nowadays.
He became famous because of his rhymes on the prized Planet Hemp first album "Usuario" ("User"), even before his official entrance in the band which would only happen one year later.
Right after that, two more prized records platinum and gold came.
Versatile, this MC from Niteroi, Rio de Janeiro, colaborated with his powerful verses and sinous singing, with the best brazilian musicians from Raimundos to bossa nova composer Carlos Lyra, from Os Paralamas do Sucesso to Sabotage.
He participated on Hebert Vianna, Sabotage, Banda Black Rio, Fernanda Abreu, Raimundos, Dj Marcelinho da Lua and Os Paralamas do Sucesso's albums.

Black Alien & Speed
At the same time he developed his work with Planet Hemp, Black Alien got together with Speed in a duo that basicly mixed rap with ragga (ragga muffin) from 1993 to 2001.
They started with the name "Speed Freaks" and around 1998, they became Black Alien & Speed, sharing stages and studios in Brazil in the 90's with Africa Bambataa and many others.
In 2001, 80000 copies of the hit "Quem Que Caguetou?" / "Follow Me, Follow Me" (co-produced by Tejo Damascena) were released in a famous brazilian magazine. Later, in 2003, the song reached the hit parade in Europe in a Nissan advertisement entitled "Le Marathon". Because of this, Fat Boy Slim remixed the track and it became a massive hit on the dance floors and in the radio stations in Europe.

Reggae B
In 2001, Black Alien and Bi Ribeiro (from Os Paralamas do Sucesso) founded the big band "Reggae B", that plays reggae standards.

First Solo Album
In 2004, Black Alien released his first solo album "Babylon By Gus Volume 1 O Ano do Macaco" whose title is a reference to Bob Marley's album "Babylon By Bus". Alexandre Basa produced, mixed, and played all the instruments, but the musicians Bi Ribeiro, Pupilo (Nacao Zumbi), Rhossi (Pavilhao 9), Rafael Crespo (Planet Hemp) Bidu Cordeiro (Os Paralamas do Sucesso, Reggae B and Orquestra Imperial) and the guitarman Marisco also played on the cd as special guests. All the vocals were recorded by Black Alien.
The cd is a mix of ragga, rap and reggae. It has a very strong influence by these rhytms. This album was very welcomed by the media.
In 2006, the video clip "Como Eu Te Quero" ran for Video Music Awards (MTV Brazil) in the category rap besides Marcelo D2, Pavilhao 9, MV Bill and Xis.
In 2015 Black Alien released second album "Babylon By Gus – Vol. II: No Príncipio Era O Verbo"
