This CD is a kind of musical expedition to the
different regions and cultures of Iran.
Maryam Akhondy has been collecting traditional
female songs over the years. With these songs she
wants to give a voice to the Persian women, who
were not present with their songs on stages of the
concerthalls and music festivals until now. These
are melodies and lyrics told by women themselves
about their lifes.
