Maryam Akhondy, born in Teheran, studied
classical Iranian singing as well as theatre-science.
She received a scholarship for the renowned
Chavosh Institute at Teheran. Later she studied
singing with Prof. Esmail Mehrtash and Prof.
Nassrollah Nassehpour. Living in Europe since 1986
where she worked with musicians from different
cultural spheres and worked on several own
projects.
Ensemble Barbad is founded and lead by Maryam
Akhondy and just released a CD from her project
with own compositions.
